Who we are

Sortory is published by Stéphane Villacèque (see the legal notice), who acts as data controller. Contact: sortory [at] mirgas [dot] fr.

In short

Data stored on your device

Your progress (levels, stars, coins, power-ups) and settings (sound, language, choices about ads and notifications) are saved locally on your device. They are not sent to us and are deleted when you uninstall the game.

Online save — Unity Gaming Services

To protect your progress, a copy of it (levels, stars, coins, power-ups, tutorials seen) is saved online with Unity Gaming Services (Authentication and Cloud Save), operated by Unity Technologies. It is linked to a random Unity player identifier and, if you're signed in to Game Center (iOS) or Google Play Games (Android), to the identifier of that account, so you can get your progress back on another device of the same platform. We don't receive your password or email: Apple and Google only confirm your identity and give the game your player name, shown in the settings. Without Game Center or Google Play Games, the copy is tied to this installation only.

The copy is kept as long as you play, and deleted on request (see Your rights). Legal basis: performance of the service you use (keeping your progress). Privacy policy: Unity.

Game analytics — GameAnalytics

To understand how the game is played and improve it (for example, which levels are too hard), we use GameAnalytics. It collects a random identifier generated for your installation, technical information (device model, operating system, game version, language), an approximate country derived from your IP address, and game events (levels started, completed or failed, purchases made in the game, ads shown). No name or contact details are collected.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the game. Privacy policy: gameanalytics.com/privacy.

Advertising — Unity LevelPlay and its partners

The game is free thanks to ads, served through Unity LevelPlay and the ad networks it works with (such as Unity Ads). These services may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iPhone, Advertising ID on Android), your IP address, technical information about your device and your interactions with ads, to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud.

At first launch, the game asks for your consent to personalised ads (and, on iPhone, the system asks for permission to track). If you refuse, you'll only see non-personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad privacy, and in your phone's privacy settings. Buying the No ads pack removes ads between levels.

Legal basis: your consent for personalised ads; our legitimate interest for non-personalised ads. Privacy policy: Unity.

Push notifications — OneSignal

If you allow notifications, we use OneSignal to tell you about new levels and remind you of free gifts. OneSignal receives a push token for your device, a technical subscription identifier, your device language and settings related to notifications (for example, whether you want to be told about new levels). The game also schedules some reminders directly on your device, without sending any data.

Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in your phone's notification settings. Privacy policy: onesignal.com/privacy_policy.

In-app purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see your payment details: we only receive a confirmation that a purchase was made, so we can deliver what you bought.

Support emails

If you write to us (by email or with the form on the support page), we use your email address, your message and any screenshot you attach only to answer you. We keep these exchanges for as long as needed to handle your request, and at most three years.

How long data is kept

Data on your device is kept until you uninstall the game. Analytics data is kept for a limited time by GameAnalytics (generally a few months in detailed form). Our partners keep advertising and notification data according to their own policies.

Transfers outside the European Union

Some of our partners are based in or process data in the United States. These transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards (European Commission standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).

Children

Sortory is suitable for all ages but is not specifically directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If you're a parent and think your child has shared data with us, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you can access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw your consent at any time. As the game has no account, we may need the identifier shown by our partners to find your data. To exercise your rights, write to sortory [at] mirgas [dot] fr. You can also file a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.

This website

This website uses no analytics and no advertising trackers. Fonts are hosted on the site itself. Our host may keep technical logs (such as IP addresses) for security purposes.

To protect the support form against spam, it uses Google reCAPTCHA, which loads only when you start filling in the form. Google then collects technical information (such as your IP address, browser information and your interactions with the page) and may set cookies to assess whether you're a human. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the form against abuse. If you'd rather avoid it, you can email us directly. See Google's privacy policy.

Changes

We may update this policy, for example when the game gets new features. The date at the top shows the latest version.
